Weektopper van week 13: Nieuw: Beta 900/C39 assort...Kühne to acquire Quinton Hazell Belgium from Affinia
Spokespersons for Kühne Beheer B.V. and Affinia Group Inc. announced today that the companies are in the final stage of negotiating a transfer of Affinia’s Quinton Hazell Belgium distribution business to Kühne. The deal is expected to close no later than 1 May 2008.
Quinton Hazell (QH) is a subsidiary of Affinia Group Inc., a global, $2.2 billion manufacturer and distributor of automotive components including steering, suspension, shock absorbers, braking systems, water pumps, and filters. Quinton Hazell Belgium, located in Brussels (Diegem), distributes a wide range of automotive parts to wholesalers in Belgium. In addition to the QH brand its offering also includes other leading brands.
For Kühne it was a long held desire to be active in the Belgian automotive market. Acquiring the Quinton Hazell activities represents the perfect opportunity to shape Kühne Belgium on the basis of a good and well-respected company. Combined with the marketing and logistics systems of Kühne, this will mean that Kühne Belgium will immediately become a prominent player in Belgium.
This transaction relates only to the activities of Quinton Hazell in Belgium. Quinton Hazell Nederland and Quinton Hazell France remain unaffected and totally dissociated from this arrangement. All current staff at QH Belgium will be employed by Kühne Belgium B.V.
