The History of Kühne
| 1929 Kühne was established on 14 May 1929 by P.G. Kühne. The first invoice on that day was to the firm P. van Houten from Heemstede and was for an amount of 126.46 Dutch guilders.
In the years that followed, the company grew into a true brake and clutch specialist, initially focussing on the industrial sector and the port in Amsterdam. After the war, Kühne also became active in the automotive sector because of increasing numbers of cars on the roads that required brake and friction materials. In 1964, as exclusive importer, Kühne started selling Ferodo materials. At that time the company mainly focussed on products originating from Britain or America. In 1950 there were 139,000 private cars in the Netherlands. |
