Denso Diesel injector systems

DENSO has been producing injector systems for Diesel engines since 1957. Operational reliability and outstanding performance form the basis of the worldwide popularity of these systems for use in lorries, buses, agricultural and construction vehicles.

In recent years more and more stringent requirements have been set for exhaust emission reduction in order to save the environment. Improvements to the performance of Diesel injector pumps were therefore required. The emergence of extremely high performance engines also placed high demands on the fuel system. Mechanical fuel pumps were no longer able to meet these demands.

To meet these changing demands, DENSO developed and introduced the ECD (Electronically Controlled Diesel) injector pumps. Electronically controlled injector pumps use a micro-computer to control the optimum injection timing. Unlike the conventional mechanical control, the fuel injection and the injection timing are controlled electronically. The result: precise and highly accurate injection.
